Dorothy Jane Wilder Condon, 80, passed away on October 31, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas. Dorothy was born on January 18, 1933 in Holton, Kansas , to George and Claribel “Sally” Wilder. After her family moved to Texas, Dorothy attended Daggett Jr. High and Paschal High School in Fort Worth. She earned a degree in Elementary Education from Texas Christian University in 1954. Dorothy married Robert “Bob” Condon in 1953 while he was on leave from the United States Marine Corps. They settled in Fort Worth, where together they raised 3 children, hosted 2 foreign exchange students, and added a array of pets to their family. Dorothy and Bob would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in December. Dorothy taught kindergarten and 1st grade for the Fort Worth Independent School District, influencing hundreds of students over the course of her 20 years of teaching. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader, and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. For over 50 years, Dorothy was an active member of Hemphill Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. After Hemphill closed, she transferred to the 1st Presbyterian Church in Crowley, where she was a member at the time of her passing. As a teenager, Dorothy enjoyed playing soccer and tennis, swimming, and square dancing. She sang in the church and school choirs, played the piano, and acted in plays. She loved to travel, enjoying camping trips with the Girl Scouts; cruises, European tours, and family vacations. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sally; sister, Virginia Cain; brother, Leon Wilder; step-father, Don Clauser; step-brother, Donald R. Clauser; and son-in-law, Donald Clifton. She is survived by her husband, Bob Condon; five children: Brian Condon of Lakewood Village, Lynne Clifton of Chico, Carol Riley of Arlington, Sergio Savytzky of Curitiba, Brazil, and Kaija Laasko of Helsinki, Finland; three grand children: Connor Riley and Haley Riley of Arlington, and Cameron Clifton of Fort Worth; great-grandson: Quinn Clifton of Fort Worth; step-sister: Donna Haltom of Albuquerque; son-in-law: Randy Riley of Arlington, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and former students. Her love and joy of life will be missed by all. Celebration of Life: Sunday, November 10, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Crowley. Private Internment: Rose Hill Cemetery of Ft. Worth
